    I'm baffled. His sentence is grammatical but it appears to be a statement of fact (on the assumption that he can see the numbers on the dial) and not remotely funny. I feel like I must be missing something.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    I wonder if the wrong caption was attached to the cartoon. The kid's statement is possible but the mom's reaction isn't funny.

    A kid might say that on seeing his mom weigh herself. To make it (very slightly) funny, the mom should be weeping, not laughing.

    I've never found this cartoon series anything more than mildly amusing, and I don't get this one at all.
