    Use of english part 1

    Hello everybody!

please give me some hints for use of english part 1? The issue I had is in this exercise:

Research published in October the 13 online issue of neurology ____________ that walking may protect aging brain from growing smaller.

I have to choose between "informs", "suggests", "provides" and "notifies". My choice was informs but it is not correct, as I checked. The correct verb is suggests. This is is because informs needs an object as readers, provides needs also some expansion, notifies needs an object. Could anyone explain this point to understand the correct use of these verbs?

    Thanks

Re: Use of english part 1

You inform someone but you suggest something.

To notify someone is to give notice to the person, which is not correct in the context.

Have you quoted that sentence correctly?
