    a SNS or an SNS

"an SNS" is found in my vocabulary book , I thought it should be "a" instead of "an", but googling "an SNS" there are 98,800 results found, 254,000 for "a SNS" .

Which is correct ? In the case of SNS , S is vowel sound, so "an" is the one to be used ?

Yes. Only the pronunciation matters. Say an H*, a house, an hour, a Y, an 80-ton boulder, a one-way street, an 11-pound fish, etc.

*unless you pronounce that letter like haitch, in which case you say "a haitch".

Don't put a space before a comma or a question mark. Write S begins with a vowel sound.

    Please don't say 'a haitch'.

    See aitch.

    To add to the list:

    a European
    an egg
    an umbrella
    a union
    a man
    an MBA

The a/an distinction is triggered by sound.
