Would you mind me / my opening the door?

1.Would you mind me opening the door?
2.Would you mind my opening the door?

I wonder which sentence is the original or standard version and which one is the variety.

    Thanks.

You might hear either form in American English. I prefer the second. Better yet, you can avoid the issue by asking Do you mind if I open the door?
