    Double uniqueness

Is there a rule against constructs like "Only .......... is the best" (because "best" makes the "only" superfluous)?

    Re: Double uniqueness

Only can mean "but" or "additionally". In those meanings, the construction is fine. It's okay in other cases, too; for example, "all these entries are excellent. Only one of them is the best." I admit this is a bit of a tautology, but I think it conveys an idea that would be lost without the modifier.
