    It's painful (to realize / realizing) that...

    I saw two variants of this sentence:

    It's painful to realize that...
    It's painful realizing that...

    Which one is more correct? Is there a generalized structure for this kind of sentence? e.g. It + be + adj + to V / V-ing

    The first works but I would change the word order in the second to "Realising that ... is painful".
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
