    major, main, severe

    Are they all correct?

1a Unfortunately, she's dealing with severe health problems.
1b Unfortunately, she's dealing with major health issues.
1c Unfortunately, she has to cope with severe/major health problems/issues.

2a The main difference between you and me is that you're gay.
2b The major difference between you and me is that you're gay.

3a It remains an unsolved problem at least for the main part of it.
3b It stays an unsettled problem for the major part of it, at least.

    Re: major, main, severe

All variations of 1 and 2 are okay.

The word usage in both number 3 sentences isn't natural.

    Re: major, main, severe

    Is this one better?

At least most parts, if not all, of the problem remain unsolved. (Because we didn't find a suitable solution yet.)
