    Neither is natural. Say,
    1. The supply of silver is more inelastic than that of gold.
    or
    2. The supply of silver is more inelastic than the supply of gold.

    I prefer the more economical #1.

    #1 is unnatural. Use #2.

    It is also common in Manglish(Malaysian English) which I am exposed to.
