    Exclamation Gerunds and Infinitives

I'm dealing right know with a huge doubt about the use of Gerunds and Infinitives verbs.
I understand there are verbs that go with one or the other but I did not find any others rule except Geunds -> like/dislike Infintives-> future events.
Somebody can help me or I have to memorize every single verbs?
    Thanks in Advance

    Re: Gerunds and Infinitives

It sounds daunting, but it falls into place over time and with exposure. Also, using the wrong form rarely causes a misunderstanding.

    Re: Gerunds and Infinitives

It's lengthy, but I find this page very helpful. It also has copious exercises to practice. Note that 'like' can take the gerund or infinitive with nearly the same meaning.

While those pages do explain the rules in depth, unfortunately the only way to know which verbs take which verbal is to memorize.

However, you'll find that certain verbs are used more often, so you'll want to focus on memorizing those combinations first. Don't feel like you need to memorize every single combination right away.
