Post But (a) true leadership canít be conquered like this

I'm writing a mini story for kids, and it's about leadership and team work.

    Should i write:
"But a true leadership canít be conquered like this."

    or:
"But true leadership can't be conquered like this.:"

    *with or without the "a".
**also, should I use "this" or "that" at the end of the sentence?

This sentence follows a paragraph about a failed attempt to be a leader.

    Thank you so much!

    No, that doesn't work.

That's better, but I'm not sure if "conquered" is the right word. Can you provide more of your text?

    See my answer above.

Re: Which is right and why?

'leadership' is not countable. Therefore, you cannot have a (one) leadership.

Re: Which is right and why?

Wow, I didn't know anyone would remember me.

I have a Trinity College London TESOL Certificate, a B.A. in linguistics and about twenty years' experience off and on. So is it okay if I post in this forum?

Thank you so much for the quick answer!
    Such a good insight.
    Please follow bellow:

Max really wanted to be the leader of the group.
But he did not understand what it meant to be a leader.
He began to tell his friends what to do.
As if he was a sergeant.

*Buttrue leadership can’t be conquered like this.*
Leadership is gained after you help and invest.
Telling others what to do does not make you are a leader.

GuiAlmeida, I have changed your thread title. Titles should include some/all of the words/phrases you are querying.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
