    Word "anoint"

I have tried to use "anoint" in my sentences. Would you please correct my mistakes?

    1. The catholic priest anointed with holy water the ship at its launch.
    or should I write instead:
    2. The catholic priest anointed the ship at its launch with holy water.
    3. The shaman anointed the sick child with scented oil.
    or should I write instead:
    4. The shaman anointed with scented oil the sick child.

Those don't work. "Anoint" means rub (something into); it does not mean sprinkle.
Use "bless" for the Catholic priest and the ship scenario.

    Use #3.
