    Frozen Peas

Gilbert O'Sullivan sings in his song Matrimony about "two frozen peas".
Can anyone explain me this expression, its origin?

    Re: Frozen Peas

It is certainly not an English idiom or common saying. But since people have asked for context I will provide it. The lyric is about a couple who are already late for their registry office wedding. He is speaking to she.

But the meaning of the simile "like two frozen peas" is still opaque to me. Perhaps I am not sufficiently poetic. Been a lifelong shortcoming of mine. The best I can come up with is "like two extremely insignificant objects."

    Re: Frozen Peas

We say that things that are identical are like peas in a pod. I think it could have this meaning, with the frozen idea because they are both late.
