    Mark Zuckerberg sues Hawaiian families to force them to sell their land.

    It's a newspaper headline. Would the sentence also be correct without "to" before "sell"?

    He could make them sell, without the "to", but force requires the full to-​infinitive.

    It's very confusing for English learners that some verbs are followed by "to" and others are not or even followed by the gerund.
    I hope that President Trump's going to simplify the language. His speeches are very easy to understand.

    His version of English is simplified by simply removing most of the verbs.

    He's no great grammarian. If you like him, follow his politics rather than his limited grammar and vocab.
