    Articles.

Please tell me which is correct (or more common):
    1. If I had _time Id go on a short holiday.
    2. If I had the time Id go on a short holiday.
    3. If I had_ money Id buy a larger cottage.
    4. If I had the money Id buy a larger cottage.
    TIA

    Re: Articles.

In both cases, I would use the article because you are referring to specific time and money. 3 sounds strange, unless you have no money at all.

    Thank you, tdol.
    Hi, hector51,
Tnx,too. I wonder if just my 2 cents is a common phrase. It's a nice one and especially good for forums.
    Regards!

    Re: Articles.

It is failry common. In the UK, people can say 'my two pence/my tuppence' worth, though we seem to be using the 'two cents' version more and more too.
