    Besides Ann, her sisters also

    I have to rephrase the question, with the word ‘besides’ placed at the beginning. Is ‘also’ necessary in the answer? I think it can be omitted but I’m unsure.

    Question: Ann attended the ceremony. Her sisters attended the ceremony too.

    My answer: Besides Ann, her sisters (also) attended the ceremony.
