the @nytimes and the @washingtonpost gas been so false

I wonder whether "gas" is a typo or a deliberate urban usage to convey something angry.

The failing @nytimes has been wrong about me from the very beginning. Said I would lose the primaries, then the general election. FAKE NEWS!

It's probably a typo. It should be 'has'.

Presumably there will shortly be an announcement from the White House that it's the new alternative spelling.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

"gas" is wrong, as is the sentiment expressed in the tweet.

It does, however, nearly work in the sense of hot air.
