    dirt and rust

    Which are correct:

    1) Water and oil were gushing out of the broken pipe.

    2) Water and oil was gushing out the broken pipe.

    3) Dirt and rust were blocking the pipe.
    4) Dirt and rust was blocking the pipe.

    5) Blood and sweat were getting in his eyes.
    6) Blood and sweat was getting in his eyes.
