    Peter feels safer

"Glock" is a pistol. Is it correct to use "a" or should it be "the Glock"?

Peter feels safer with a Glock in his holster as he walks the dark streets.

It depends on context which you should use. Eiher could be correct.

    Ron & Don.

Ron: I feel safer with my Glock in my waistband.
    Don: What's a Glock?
    Ron: This is a Glock.
    Don: Oh.

    Re: Peter feels safer

If you have already mentioned the pistol or you're alluding to it in a specific way, it's the Glock. If you are speaking of it in a general sense, it's a Glock.

Dead-eye Dick never went anywhere without his pistol. He felt more like a man with the Glock tucked into his waistband.

Dick always had the Glock on him - the one that was not in any way compensation for his very small hands.

Dick stuffed a Glock into his waistband and felt like he was ready for anything.

Bassim, in your post I would say:

    A Glock is a pistol.

    Re: Peter feels safer

You should never tuck handguns directly into your waistband (or pocket, socks, etc.) That's just asking for self-induced lead poisoning. If you're lucky you might live to regret it.

They should always be carried in a holster that completely covers the trigger.
