will, be going to, present continuous, ... for future

Hello, 'will, be going to, and present continuous' can be used for the actions in the future, with some differences in use.

    1. 'will' for the actions that you decide to do NOW
    2. 'be going to' for the actions that you are going to achieve or to get involve in the future and you're getting prepared for it now
    3. 'present continuous' for the planed/programmed actions in the future

My question is about the certainty of each. Which one is more certain? I would range them like the following based on the descending certainty, I need your help to make me if I'm correct or not.

    1. be going to
    2. present continuous
    3. will

Actually it's really hard to decide.

Re: will, be going to, present continuous, ... for future

As far as I know, sometimes even the simple present can be used for future actions. For example when it's 5 o'clock and somebody says: "The train (usually) leaves at 6 o'clock. No need to hurry"
    Correct?

The three forms you give do not indicate degree of certainty per se, even in natural use.

One of several ways to express a degree of certainty is with adverbial phrases, such as:

    definitely
    without doubt
    possibly

It's quite an achievement to make a mistake in a short answer like that. I am all too aware that I suffer from typophilia, but I hadn't realised it was that bad.

Sorry! I nearly ignored it but hey, you know, I couldn't. It was just that you put a comma instead of a full stop.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

A not uncommon slip with me these days, The comma and full stop are next to each other on my keyboard. and I often click on the wrong one, When I check my posts before submitting (you may not believe it. but I do). my ageing eyes don't spot the difference unless I set the font size at 150%. which causes other problems,

Your post clearly shows how important it is to use correct capitalization and punctuation.
