    to put

    Hi,

Could anyone please tell me what "to put" means here? Does it mean "to express" or it means "to estimate"?

As soon as the project is assigned to XXX, XXX will pay the YYY a fee that we may put as 3% of the total value of the project minus 35% of the final sum.

P.S.It's a part of a letter, so I cannot provide any source.

    Thanks

It is used in an accounting sense. It means "which we can account for"; in other words, "which we can record in our accounting statements."
