Referring to myself in the third person

    Greetings,

    Please correct my grammar...

    A) I want to clean the room.
    B) She wants to clean the room.

What if I am talking to my toddler, and referring to myself as "Mama".

How should I say it in this case?

    1. Mama want to clean the room.
    OR
    2. Mama wants to clean the room.

    Please advise, Thank you! :)

    Welcome to the forum, suhann.

Use 2, the correct verb form of the first person singular.

Except 'Mama' is actually third person singular.

Hi suhann, and welcome to the forum.

Just to clarify, Rover_KE advised you to use #2 which is correct. Skrej pointed out that Rover_KE meant to write third person singular.

    #2 is correct.
    #1 is incorrect.

My special thanks to teechar; otherwise the interlude between the teachers could have confused the new comer to the forum.
