    drip off

In the text bellow what does "drip off" mean?

Periodically run the spoon through the jam and let it drip off. When the jam is ready, it will start to thicken, and the drops will come together to pour off the spoon as a solid sheet or a single big gob. Source.

I think it means drip, but maybe there is more about it.

    Thanks is advance!

Run it through the jam; hold it up and watch the drops of jam fall off the spoon.
