    get back v. go back v. come back v. return

    Original:"Getting back to the original question, the sentence is not factually correct."

    Which of the following is correct, idiomatic and in the same meaning as the original?

    1. Going back to to the original question, the sentence is not factually correct.
    2. Coming back to the original question, the sentence is not factually correct.
    3. Returning to the original question, the sentence is not factually correct.

    Numbers 2 and 3 are both possible. I suppose number 1 is not impossible, but it doesn't feel natural in the context.

    They all work for me.

    What is the meaning of "Get back" in the "Getting back to the original question, the sentence is not factually correct."

    I think it is "to pay attention." Do you agree ?

    Thank you.

    No, it means exactly the same as "return".

    But it's not a physical process such as "returning home" but it's more related to paying attention. Do you agree?

    Thank you.

    return

    verb 3

    to turn to again, as in thought:
