    about adjective clause reduction

    here are two sentences.

1)This is the place where I live.
2)This is the place that I live in.

is it still grammatically correct if I delete "where" in sentence (1) and "that" in (2)?

1)This is the place where I live.
Interestingly, Lagoo, you can delete "the place" from (1) and simply say:

1a) This is where I live.

Sentences (1) and (1a) differ in grammatical structure but not in meaning.

    thanks.
but I just want to confirm, from a grammatical point of view, weather it is correct to say both "this is the place I live" and " this is the place I live in"

"This is the place I live" doesn't work. "This is the place I live in" is OK if by "place" you mean the town/city/village or house/flat/bungalow/tent.
