It's not new, but I enjoyed teaching academic writing with Sam McCarter's A Book on Writing when I was working in universities, and it is a no-nonsense guide to writing.

Note my corrections above. We don't "search up" something, we "search for" something. I hope you're not expecting anyone to provide a link to an online PDF copy of an entire book - that's illegal.

For a free, online writing resource, nothing beats the OWL at Purdue, in my opinion.
