'set a bad example' for some films or TV programmes

    Hi,

Can we just use this expression for, say, a film?

"Cartoons of such kind can set a bad example for kids!"

(Actually, I mean something that is educative in an inappropriate way, or the state of this condition. Can mal-education ever be an option here?!)

Someone can set a bad example for other people who are in a similar situation: Jane's behavior in the fifth grade was really poor. She set a bad example for the other kids in her class. A cartoon isn't a person, so the expression doesn't work in your scenario.

You could write That kind of cartoon promotes bad behavior.

I can't remember every hearing 'maleducation', though I've heard people described as being maleducated.
