    out of existence

I have my doubts understanding this sentence:
There is even Kermode’s construction of postmodernism, which in effect constructs it right out of existence.
Does it mean that Kermode constructs postmodernism from nothing? Or you suggest better meanings?
    Thanks already

Hello BH5580, and welcome to the forum.

No, it doesn't mean that. It means that Kermode's interpretation of postmodernism destroys/destructs it.
There's a play on words here because "constructs" is the antonym of "destruct."

wipe (something) out of existence = obliterate (something)
