while urgent repairs are (being) carried out

    Hello!

In the sentence "Thousands of people have been told to leave their homes while urgent repairs are carried out", would it be possible to say "while urgent repairs are being carried out"? The situation is taking place now.

    Thank you.

I would add 'being' if they are ongoing.

    It's better without being.

I have no real preference for either one. They're both acceptable.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

They're both fine, though I would probably leave being out.
