    An additional jobs

    Hello there,

I think I've not been here for around 5-7 years... So, great to return to you guys!

Anyway, I just came across a sentence that did amaze me. The sentence was: "The new factory created an additional 200 jobs." Wow, I thought, "an additional jobs." But then I talked to uncle Google, and he told me that this phrase is often used.

Could you please confirm that it is correct to say "an additional jobs," and if yes, could you please explain why it is correct?

    Thanks,
    Nyggus

    Re: An additional jobs

    Welcome back.

You can say '...an additional 200 jobs' but not 'an additional jobs'.

The number of jobs needs to be specified.

    Re: Ad additional jobs

Remember that "a" or "an" is followed by a singular noun. You used "jobs" which is a plural noun.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: Ad additional jobs

To clarify, emsr2d2 is saying (just as Rover_KE pointed out above) that "an additional jobs" is incorrect. However, saying, e.g., "an additional 200 jobs" is correct.
