    Comparatives

    1) Two cars are very expensive. A is more expensive than B. Can I say that B is cheaper than A? Doesn't it sound awkward?
    2) John is taller than Paul. Is it common in everyday English to say that Paul is less tall than John?

    Re: Comparatives

    1. You can say:

Car A is more expensive than car B.
Car B is less expensive than car A.
Car B is cheaper than car A.

Some people might say that you should use "cheaper" only if the other item in the comparison is cheap. In reality, most of us don't make that distinction. We use "cheaper" to mean "less expensive".

    2. No, that's not natural. We would say "Paul is shorter than John" or "Paul is not as tall as John".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
