I was able to catch a sort of a proverb "Can you teach an old dog new tricks?" but because I hardly understand the following phrases (I can only hear : absolutely...We'll find out.) I can't get the whole idea. I wonder if the man hopes he will be able to change his life or on the contrary. I think he isn't sure. Am I right?
Thank you.

I can't determine where in this very long video the phrase occurs. At 3:50 does not work for for me, neither 3:50 from the beginning nor from the end. Are you able to snip out the fragment and post it?

Will it help if I describe this scene? A man with white hair is sitting in the arm-chair outside his house. It's within 3:50-3:55.
