    still has them

A says: I still remember the first time I bought cigarettes.
B replies: 1-That's because you still have them. You never smoked a single cigarette in your life.

Meaning: You still have the cigarettes you bought the first time you bought cigarettes.

Is sentence '1' correct in the given context?

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

Sentence 1 was correct. I fixed sentence 2 for you.
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.
