    Are these sentences okay?

    His boss has been very supportive. He is really appreciative of his support.

    They're both grammatical. I'd rephrase the second one. "He really appreciates his boss's support" would be more natural and more clear.
    I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.
