    Speaking Assessment

    Hi there,

I'm currently studying my GCSE's and we've been asked to perform a speaking and listening presentation in school. This is a practice before the actual thing next year (I'm in year 10).
The thing is, my teacher says we can do it on whatever topic we see fitting, as we must talk about our chosen topic for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Also, we can present infront of the whole class, a small group or just our teacher, Maria.
Maria has talked through the mark scheme and how to get a pass, merit or distinction but I'm still confused as to which topic to choose which will be interesting for fourteen year olds, get me a sufficent mark and I will be able to talk about for a period of time.

    Any ideas?

In addition, will my given grade change depending on who I choose to do my presentation infront of? And whether it's a talk, debate or PowerPoint slideshow?

    Thanks,
    Kate

Hi Kate, and welcome to the forum.
Why don't you ask your teacher these questions? I think these are legitimate questions, and she should be able to give you some guidance on them.

If you're genuinely interested in it, then you're more likely to get the audience on your side.
