I am wondering if my sentences sound natural?

As a young, successful basketball player, Peter was constantly hounded by girls. They would not even leave him in peace at home.

I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.
