I usually hear "household expenses," but both are fine.
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.

    Re: house expenses

Household expenses means "the money spent on everyday family needs". House expenses, if it were used, might mean "money spent on maintaining a house". Only the first is natural.
    I am not a teacher.
