    As Peter grew older

I am wondering if my sentence sounds natural.

As Peter grew older, he preferred the company of the radio to people.

    Re: As Peter grew older

I'd write either "he preferred the radio to people" or "he preferred the company of the radio to that of people."
    I am not a teacher.
