My friend had one GB of internet usage allowance on his mobile

My friend had one GB of internet usage allowance on his mobile. He wanted to watch a match on his phone. If he had done so, his data would have ended before "the match ended" or "before the ending of the match".

    Please check my sentences.

He would have run out of data before the match ended.

    Change one GB to 1GB.

My friend's mobile data allowance was 1GB. He wanted to watch a [name of sport] match on his phone but he didn't have enough data.

My friend had 1GB of internet usage allowance on his mobile. He wanted to watch a cricket match on his phone. If he had done so, he would have run out of data before the cricket match ended or before the end of the cricket match.

Re: My friend had one GB of internet usage allowance on his mobile

Are you suggesting the entire contents of post #6 as the finished version or are you asking us to choose between "before the cricket match ended" and "before the end of the cricket match"?

It is the finished version. I was suggested two different ways so I used both.

You can only put them in the same sentence if you use a slash - like this:

My friend had 1GB of internet usage allowance on his mobile. He wanted to watch a cricket match on his phone. If he had done so, he would have run out of data before the cricket match ended/before the end of the cricket match.

You are still repeating words or terms unnecessarily. Consider this:

My friend had 1GB of internet usage allowance on his mobile. He wanted to watch a cricket match on his phone. If he had done so, he would have run out of data before it finished.
