    suffer

Without sleep, memory and decision processing suffer.

Does it mean without sleep, memory and decision would suffer, or they have to deal with suffer?
Thank you for your help and corrections!

    Re: suffer

The sentence means your memory and ability to make good decisions diminish if you haven't had enough sleep.

I don't understand "they have to deal with suffer".
    I am not a teacher.

    Re: suffer

    Two things suffer:
    1) memory
    2) decision processing
