Yet to come vs. Has yet to come

    Hi teachers,

    Is there any difference between

The time is yet to come. and
The time has yet to come.

    Thanks in advance

Re: Yet to come vs. Has yet to come

I would look at them this way,

"is yet" seems to indicate you are looking forward into the future for the possibility of it happening.

"Man walking on Mars is yet to happen."

"has yet" seems to indicate you looked at the past to see if it occured.

"Man walking on Mars has yet to happen"
