Hello all,
I have two questions regarding the following context:

"Thankfully, scientists are now much closer to understanding how facial recognition works, with significance for possible future remedies. In the meanwhile, their work is enjoying immediate application in law enforcement."

First
: “with” means “which has”. And “which” refers to a whole sentence, so:
“The fact that scientists are now much closer to understanding how facial recognition works has significance for possible future remedies.”

Second: I don’t know the meaning of the whole bold part. However, I can guess the meanings of the individual words:
Enjoy: Have something as a feature or benefit
Application: practical use or the ability to be used for practical purposes
Work: their discoveries

Maybe the whole means: "the law enforcement is considering the practical use of their discovery because their achievements have many benefits." :) (I know it is totally wrong)

Sorry.I don't know what you meant. I have the problem understanding the main idea of the whole sentence.
I can't find a relation between 'application' , 'enjoying' and 'law enforcement'.

Re First: I believe your sentence is clearer. I am not aware of “which has” being a definition of "with". (Anyone else?) In your sentence a “fact” has “significance”. This makes sense to me.

Re: Second: You could just replace “enjoying” with “finding” or “seeing”. I’m guessing the first writer was thinking of the definition of enjoy which means to possess or benefit from. I don’t think the work itself is enjoying anything. I suppose one could conclude that the work itself is benefiting from its application (justifying the use of “enjoy”) but that seems a bit awkward -- to me anyway. Certainly the scientists and law enforcement personnel are enjoying (both taking pleasure in, and benefiting from) the immediate application of this research in law enforcement.

When you have made ten posts you'll be able to put it into your signature line so you won't need to state it in every answer you give (as GoesStation has done - click here and see post #2).

Rover, do you mind telling me where I can change my signature line? I am still putting it down manually and started wondering how many posts were enough for an auto line? Thank you very much.

I figured it out. :)
