Should we capitalize the first word after a colon?

"The lesson that I learned that day was simple: It's possible to be too competitive."

Should we capitalize the first word after a colon? Thanks!

Re: Should we capitalize the first word after a colon?

In the sentence you quoted, no.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
