1) On your birthday people feed you cake with their hands.

2) On my birthday kids fed me cake with their hands.

Please check my sentences.

Are the people being fed unable to feed themselves?

There is a missing comma from both sentences.

It does sound culture-specific, so it may be worth mentioning where this happens. I have lived in several countries and no one has ever done this to me, and I didn't know people did it.

That's a wedding - not a birthday.

I have seen this at weddings, but not at birthdays. At weddings, it is something between the bride and groom.

It is not sanitary to do such a thing. Between the bride and groom, it is okay. Birthdays no.

I'd have no problem with my friends stuffing cake into my mouth with their hands on my birthday! It's not a cultural thing in the UK but if my friends want to start it, great!

Then you are more than welcome to allow your friends to do such a thing. My friends can put cake on my face, but not my mouth.

Well, thanks for your permission! ;-) Personally, I'd be very disappointed if delicious cake missed my mouth and went all over my face. That'd be embarrassing in the middle of my birthday celebrations in a restaurant!

You were talking about letting your friends put cake directly into your mouth (meaning you open your mouth and your friends, each dips their fingers into the birthday cake and feeds you - the idea of which I can't quite comprehend - well, at least outside drunken college parties). If my friends smeared cake all over my face, of course I would lick it off.

I am perfectly well aware of what I was talking about. English is my native language so I know exactly what it means for someone to feed me with cake using their hands. I still have no problem with having it happen, let alone comprehending the idea!

It obviously comes down to personal preferences. I appreciate the frank discussion.

Tufguy -
At weddings, the bride feeds a small piece of cake to the groom and the groom feeds a small piece of cake to the bride.

I think we have finally ended the "hilarious new tradition" of smashing the piece of cake in your new spouse's face. Thank goodness.
