yesterday before or after the relative clause?

We met the man yesterday who is a professional chess player.
We met the man who is a professional chess player yesterday.

Which one is correct? If both are correct, which one is better?

Re: yesterday before or after the relative clause?

Neither is very natural. This would be more typical: "Yesterday we met a man who is a professional chess player." It would be passable with "yesterday" at the end instead of the beginning.

Always put a space after sentence-ending punctuation.

Re: yesterday before or after the relative clause?

Since the phrase "who is a professional chess player" compliments "the man" (I believe there is a name for this type of structure but I don't remember), you need to put it right after the noun.
