    What is the correct verb?

I go to the optical shop, the optometrist checks my eyes and prepares a pair of suitable eyeglasses for me.

I ____?____ a pair of eyeglasses in the optical shop.

What is the correct verb to be used?

Where did you find this question? What do you think the answer(s) might be?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

I have no idea about the possible answers.

I am not a student asking homework.

I am a retired person, usually when I wake up at about 3 or 4 am there are various questions come to my mind, the question may be about computer, my pet dog, English…etc.

This is one of the questions.

Re: What is the correct verb?

The problem is that there is no obvious verb to go in there.

You could use bought, paid for, tried on, was tested for, and various other verbs.

We don't speak of an 'optical shop' in BrE. We normally go to the optician('s).

Re: What is the correct verb?

... and in BrE we say 'glasses' or 'specs' (spectacles).

It certainly looks like you are, bigC, to students and visitors to the thread, who will be watching with interest to see if this a forum where they can get free homework answers.

It would be useful if you reminded us of your motivation in future posts, and at least make a reasonable attempt at an answer for yourself.

"Picked up" if you have them. "Picked out" if you selected them, but need to pick them up later.
