    best or the best

    Dear teachers,

When do we use best (superlatives) without the?

"You know best when to buy a new computer."

    or

"You know the best when to buy a new computer."

    Thank you.

    Re: best or the best

We often use superlatives before possessive adjectives such as my/your/her, etc.

    my biggest fear
    your best feature
    her worst nightmare
