I hold a bilingual universita entrance diploma

    Hello everyone!
I was wondering if it is correct to say:

"I hold a bilingual university entrance diploma"

If not, please be so kind as to correct me.
    Thank you.
    Regards

Re: I hold a bilingual universita entrance diploma

We don't normally have a 'diploma' of university entrance. What exactly is the document you are talking about? Are you, the university or the document bilingual?

Re: I hold a bilingual universita entrance diploma

Well, if you google for this term "university entrancediplome" you'll find it.For example here:

    https://www.bfh.ch/en/studies/course...admission.html

I don't know. What is the official term for it? I am talkingabout the certificate (secondary education) that you are awarded when youfinish your high school education.

What would be the offcial term for it? "Bilingual highschool degree"?

    Thanks

Re: I hold a bilingual universita entrance diploma

In the UK, we don't have such a diploma. All you get when you finish high school (secondary school) are you exam result certificates - one certificate for each subject. That's what you get at the age of 16 so those won't help you get into university two years later. When you finish sixth form college, at the age of 18, you get a certificate for each subject you took an exam in. Those results are what you have to show a university so they can decide if you can (potentially) have a place there.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: I hold a bilingual universita entrance diploma

I see. Thank you. But considering it only from the linguistic point of view, can I say "Bilingual university entrance diploma (or certificate)" ?
    Thanks

Re: I hold a bilingual universita entrance diploma

University entrance diploma' would not be readily understood by people from the UK. As ems told you, we don't have such a thing here. And I still don't know what the 'bilingual' refers to.

Re: I hold a bilingual universita entrance diploma

In the US, we don't have such a thing either. However, I did look into the link you gave. Perhaps a "university entrance diploma" is something specific to your country? If that is the case, you can use it within the context of applying to the school that uses such term. If you apply for a university in the US, make sure to check out their requirements and perhaps ask them if there is an equivalent to a "university entrance diploma". A lot of US universities are very well versed in different international certificates/diplomas.

If you give the exact name of this diploma, it will help institutions more as they have access to comparisons of different countries' qualifications.
