someone who supervises a person or activity

I know the meaning. I mean what a 'supervisor' does in a shop?
Is that the same as a shopkeeper?

    Re: What does 'supervisor' mean?

There is no standard definition for "shopkeeper". What a supervisor does at work will depend entirely on his/her location and the type of shop. However, the context in post 1 makes it clear that this particular supervisor supervises the person who is late for work.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: What does 'supervisor' mean?

A supervisor in any work context is someone holding a position one level higher in authority. In addition to any other duties, a supervisor is responsible for directing the people in the next lower level who "report to" him or her. In American English, such people are inelegantly called "direct reports".
