The scandal broke when it was revealed

I am wondering if my sentence is grammatically correct.

The scandal broke when it was revealed that the prime minister not only did buy his university degree, but also plagiarized his PhD thesis.

    Not did buy, but bought.

I will repeat my sentence after Goestation's correction as an exercise and to remember it for the future.

The scandal broke when it was revealed that the prime minister not only bought his university degree, but also plagiarized his PhD thesis.

Or "... it was revealed that not only did the prime minister buy his degree, but also plagiarised ..."

Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
