I want to provide them with basic necessities such as food and clothing.

    Hi,

    Below is my original sentence:
I want to provide those poor people with basic necessities such as food and clothing.

Now, If I wanted to include all basic necessities , which phrase would be suitable as an alternative to " such as"? I know we use 'such as' to avoid repeating all items in a list. However, I want to name all of them in my sentence, for example:

I want to provide them with basic necessities, food, clothing, shelter, housing.

    Thanks.

Use a colon after necessities and add and before the last item in the list.

How can you include all of them? Toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet tissue, sanitary napkins, condoms?
    You are SO right.
Use the original, change the period to a comma, and then type "etc."
I want to provide those poor people with basic necessities such as food and clothing, etc.
